Women-led business center coming to Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A women-led business center is coming to Hartford.

State officials and city leaders gathered on Tuesday to announce a new federal grant for the Women’s Business Development Council.

The funds will help the council open a Women’s Business Center in the capital city.

It will also support the growth of women-owned businesses by providing access to education, training and financial opportunities.

“So women walk into one of these centers and they have an idea,” said Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz. “But they may not have financing they may need help writing a business plan, they may not even have a bank. It is the WBDC and the SBA that together help women who have a good idea make their business a reality.”
