Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) Hires New Program Specialist
Ashley McGuffie is the new Program Specialist for the Naugatuck Valley office of the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC). Her job is to help organize and deliver financial and business education for women.
A resident of Fairfield, CT, Ashley has a strong background in community activism. She received a Bachelors of General Studies with a major in Human Services and minor in Women’s Studies in 2006 at the University of Connecticut and then went on to pursue her Master of Arts in Women’s Studies at Southern Connecticut. There, she co-organized two conferences on human rights issues and was instrumental in developing the 1st Annual Sexuality and Gender Center Conference.
“I’m passionate about serving women and the community and helping to empower women,” she says. “My work for the WBDC enables me to continue my dedication to spreading awareness on human rights and women’s issues throughout the community.”
