WBDC Welcomes Ronae Mason-Craig as Outreach Coordinator for Waterbury

Mason-Craig, a lifelong Waterbury resident, will join Business Advisor Janet Johnson at WBDC’s new Waterbury office, which will open later this year.

WATERBURY, Conn. — The Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) is announcing the hiring of Ronae Mason-Craig as Outreach Coordinator for its new office location in Waterbury — scheduled to open later this year. In this role, she will be responsible for expanding WBDC’s reach in the Waterbury area.

A lifelong Waterbury resident, Mason-Craig has a storied history of helping those in the community who need it most. She began her professional career in healthcare, initially as a Certified Nurse’s Aide before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 2017, after nine years in nursing, Mason-Craig pivoted and founded a nonprofit organization for women & children. Two years later, she opened a coworking/event space in Waterbury. Most recently, Mason-Craig worked for a community-based health initiative to advance health literacy in Waterbury.

“We are delighted to welcome Ronae to the WBDC team as we look to expand our presence in Waterbury, ” said WBDC CEO Fran Pastore. “As a lifelong Waterbury resident, Ronae has established close connections throughout the community. I am confident that she will build strong relationships within the city’s small business community and with entrepreneurs in neighboring cities and towns.”

To expand WBDC’s reach through the newly-established Waterbury office, Mason-Craig will serve as a primary contact for prospective and existing clients in the city, responding to their inquiries and helping them sign-up for programs and counseling. She will also promote WBDC programs, conduct outreach to current and prospective clients, and manage the day-to-day operations of the Waterbury office. She will be based in WBDC’s New Haven office until the Waterbury location officially opens. She can be reached at 203-353-1750 or via email at rmason-craig@ctwbdc.org.
