Alisyn Camerota, is the co-anchor of CNN’s morning show “New Day”. Prior to CNN, Alisyn worked at Fox News Channel, NBC and America’s Most Wanted. As an award-winning journalist, Alisyn knows a little something about the fast-paced world of cable news and will be speaking about her new novel AMANDA WAKES UP.

She offers a fictional behind-the-scenes peek at this one-of-a-kind job… a blur of breaking news, big scoops, and colorful personalities. The book follows Amanda Gallo, an ambitious young reporter who lands a plum gig at a big-time cable news station, but quickly learns her dream job isn’t exactly a dream. “Amanda Wakes Up” is “The Devil Wears Prada” meets “The Newsroom” with a dash of “Primary Colors” thrown into the mix.

Alisyn will discuss what it’s like to be a journalist in today’s hyper-charged world of broadcast news, what “truth” is, the daily struggles of journalists to get it right in a ratings-driven climate and why toxic work environments are finally no longer being tolerated.

All are welcome to attend the event; copies of Amanda Wakes Up will be available for purchase and signing.
