The Backstory

There’s nothing better than a good slice of pizza, but service is the magic ingredient.

Angela Bonenfant Sinnott understood the food service industry from years of working in her family’s deli and catering businesses. But a chance encounter in 2016 took her in an exciting new direction.

An employee at Webster Bank, Angela attended a company event catered by a pizza food truck. It sparked her curiosity, and an idea.

“I looked at their setup and my brain started working … ‘I know I can do this [thing] better, can I do this [other thing] better?’” she asked herself.

Hearkening back to her roots, Angela decided that in addition to excellent pizza, her service would set her apart. Customers would be treated as family.

With a specially outfitted truck and trailer serving as a mobile pizzeria, the Family Pizza Truck will pull up to your location of choice, heat up the wood fired pizza oven and serve delicious slices with a genuine smile. With the ability to cater events for up to 150 people, Angela and her team go above and beyond to leave their clients with good food and amazing memories.

“I love the interactions I have with my clients and customers. When someone thanks me after their party on a Saturday, and then calls me on Monday just to express their gratitude again, you know you did it right,” she said.

Angela is proud to be an integral part of these family occasions, whether it is a surprise party for 50 people or a wedding for 150.

How Women's Business Development Council Helped

By 2019, the Family Pizza Truck was very busy, taking requests for multiple parties a day. With requests severely exceeding the inventory she was able to keep refrigerated, Angela had hit a roadblock.

She knew she needed a larger commercial mixer, and guidance on how to grow her business without compromising quality. That’s when an advisor with the Small Business Administration referred her to WBDC.

Angela began meeting with a WBDC Business Advisor and took advantage of the organization’s educational opportunities and supports for women entrepreneurs, which was instrumental in helping her create a business plan and work up long-term projections. Angela credits much of her growth to her work with WBDC.

“The Equity Match Grant (now the Ignite Grant) was a beautiful addition to the benefit of having WBDC. The organization really improved my experience and journey as a small business owner.”

Angela used the grant funds to purchase a new commercial mixer and upgrade refrigeration for her handcrafted dough.
