SEYMOUR — As a young cashier working at a bakery, Alyssa DeMatteo never imagined the day would come where she would own her own business.
But with hard work dreams do come true and DeMatteo soon will celebrate the third anniversary of opening her own cupcake and cake shop in downtown Seymour, Wildflour Confections.
And the 26-year-old entrepreneur’s work ethic and dedication to her sweet livelihood has not gone unnoticed. DeMatteo was recently honored by the Women’s Business Development Council, chosen among 19 other women business owners and female entrepreneurs for their success.
