Our ever-changing economy is due for equalization. The Women’s Business Development Council and the Department of Economic and Community Development recognize that women and women of color are the future of entrepreneurism. They are leveling the playing field for women-owned businesses, which have grown by 56% in Connecticut over the past two decades and contribute $16 billion to Connecticut’s gross domestic product each year. It’s a figure that I expect to multiply in years to come.
