Session 1: Crafting a Compelling Financial Story to Pitch to Investors – Telling the tale of your company, team, product or service can be a powerful way of communicating with important stakeholders. Join WBDC’s Access to Capital Specialist, Janet Siegenthaler as she shares her expertise for this interactive program to explore your themes, identify stories for your message, and craft language for your communication. You’ll decide how the stories you are creating can be told through characters, challenges, turning points, and the culmination of the tale.
Session 2: Pitch prep – The next and vital step is to test the stories you have crafted, polishing your presentation through practice. The workshop will include time dedicated to presenting to the group in a supportive learning environment in addition to constructive thoughts on refining your approach. This is an opportunity to weave the tale you have created into your company’s narrative.
Session 3: Pitch Night — At WBDC’s own version of Shark Tank, you’ll have an opportunity to present your story to a panel of professionals who will critique your presentation and provide tips on how to make your story as compelling as possible to potential investors.
Session 4: Debrief/Next Steps – In this session, we’ll summarize key points and you’ll walk away with an action plan for creating the pitch that will attract the funding that can help you reach your business goals.
