Laura is a Program Manager with the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC) where she is responsible for delivering WBDC’s programs and services throughout Southeastern Connecticut. Ms. Stetler manages training opportunities for clients at all stages of business development: idea/planning, new enterprises, and developed enterprises looking to expand. She also consults individually with WBDC clients, providing tailored support to assist them in capitalizing on opportunities.
Ms. Stetler brings diverse and adaptive experience to the world of business development. Her program administration and delivery includes time with arts organizations, higher education institutions, as well as varying levels of government. Small business owners can expect thorough, interdisciplinary, and nuanced assistance based on Ms. Stetler’s work in an array of industries.
As a young military spouse, it was a Career Advancement Account along with training from the Small Business Administration and Syracuse University’s Women Veterans Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-WISE) program that equipped Ms. Stetler for work in economic development. Serving as trainer and program coordinator for the US Navy further galvanized her passion to equip those in transition.
Ms. Stetler’s passion for developing others is reinforced with a creative drive forged in her formal studies at Goucher College and the New England Conservatory of Music. She can be found playing violin, dancing, adoring design, and traveling when not engaged at WBDC.
