How do you know when it is time to get a financial coach?

In many aspects of our life, we wait until something NEEDS to be done before we take action.  Haircuts are put off until a big event, doctor visits don’t happen until that pain in our side has become unbearable, “spring cleaning” happens in the winter before the in-laws come to town, and our personal finances stay out of sight until the bank account gets too low!

In the case of our personal finances, I can assure you IGNORANCE is in fact not BLISS!  The sooner you address issues, concerns or questions, the sooner you can begin to create a plan.  And knowledge is power!

There are a few times when it is good to review your finances, and perhaps seek advice for any questions you might have:

• A major life event has occurred – marriage, divorce, new baby, new job, relocation
• You have recently been rejected for a loan or received a high interest rate due to poor credit
• You regularly ask “where did my money go?” at the end of the month
• You have a financial life goal and you are not sure how to get started (perhaps buy a new home, start your own business, pay off a debt, etc)
• You have not reviewed your financial situation in at least 7 years
