Dr. Charles first discovered WBDC in 2022 through a Google search for “grant opportunities for my small business,” which led her to the Ignite Grant (then known as Equity Match Grant). She applied immediately and was awarded a grant, which she used to purchase a new chair to equip a second exam room. With the additional exam room set up, Dr. Charles was able to bring on another doctor and increase the number of patients the practice could serve.

In October 2024, Natacha’s business received a boost when she was among the first recipients of WBDC’s Accelerate Grant. With the $25,000 grant, Dr. Charles plans to open a second location, further expanding the reach of Family Eyecare of Orange. WBDC’s support has been instrumental in helping Dr. Charles turn her vision into reality, allowing her to grow her practice and serve even more patients in need.
